I recently signed on to my local Vol dept, but have not started the FF1 or EMT training yet. The very next day my wifes gets news that her job is getting moved to NYC from the DC area which sucks for my volunteering.
Based on what we know it is likely that we will be living in Brooklyn due to our jobs.
I still want to volunteer, but from what I have found it looks like the FDNY is all paid.
Is there a seperate Vol dept in the Brooklyn area that I could consider?
Is there any Vol dept's in the area that will consider Vol's if they do not live in their fire district?
