I've just been tasked with re-writing our dispatch center's SOP. Our current SOP is so outdated and confusing (since we have upgraded so much since then) it's amusing. Can anyone help me out with places to find examples, ideas, etc. I'd appreciate any help you could give me. Thanks!
not sure if this helps our not but check out www.pstc.com they have a class on writing SOP/SOG's. Hope this helps..
savair, I definitely would not recommend re-inventing the wheel. Alot of your existing SOP's regardless of how old they are can probably be re-worded to identify any technological and procedural updates, etc...
I would also contact surrounding Comm centers and ask for copies of their SOP's. You can use those as guidlines in creating/updating your own.

Thanks, to both of you. I did just end up re-wording and updated the old ones. You were right MrJim, the wheel was there it just needed new tires. Our Deputy Chief seems pleased with the final product.
