I'm interested in becoming a 68w (Combat Medic, or 'Health Care Specialist' if I recall correctly). If I enlist in the Army, what 'guarantees' do I have that I will get that position (assuming I pass all the requirements or prerequisites)? Is it possible that I do not get that position and somehow end up (just for example) on infantry or intel?
Thanks!

The Army can guarantee your MOS in your contract. The only way you lose that is if you fail during the AIT portion of training. I was guaranteed 19D and I got 19D.

Guarenteed
The Army will guarentee everything before you go in. If you sign the contract and it states that you are going in as 68W...then you're going in as 68W plain and simple. They will even work with you to get you butt in gear before you ship for basic...just make sure your back ground is clean.
