    Harve-

Isn't that the bread truck they used in the TV show "SWAT"? I thought you needed a fire truck pic?

Speaking of 70's shows.....RFRDExpolrer, isn't that Johnny and Roy's truck?

    Post Well..........

I think the Black Step Van is the one used as a Hazmat truck in the (1997)movie "Random Hearts" in the Plane Crash scenes. I won't mention any names, but I drove a Heavy Rescue in the same shots........ The Movie was (like Ladder 49) set in Baltimore, and the Plane Crash was staged under the Key Bridge, just east of Baltimore Harbor. A bunch of local VFDs were involved.

"the boss" had damn well better be doing well right about now, he and THE BOSS are currently on an 11-day cruise, going through the Panama Canal. He was excited because when he was in the Navy, he never got to do a westpac cruise. I was sure to remind him to stay out of the engine room on the cruise ship, ask Hayworth- give him the chance to slip away from Mom and he'll be down there with a wrench in one hand and a drop light in the other!

Hey FWD, I'll let you in on a little known local area fact. Wife of Chief Woods used to be a school bus driver. I think they got their colours mixed up when they ordered the new paint job for their rigs.

But in the year 2007, cooler heads prevailed.......Our original red was demanded by the masses (by the way, the color began with the 1948 Ward Lafrance above....When the 1958 FWD was ordered, a paint sample was taken, and it was determined to be "1956 Chrysler Tango Red") By company vote, I present, the 2007 Toyne/Spartan ala "1956 Chrysler Tango Red."

PS: (allow me to brag for a moment ) The 1958 F.W.D. pictured above as it appears today (which, by the way, is parked out in my garage. ) It was sold to another company in 1978 when the "period of darkness" began with the 78 Hahn. The company that bought it had another truck already that was this "ALF Maroon" kind of a color........

God as my witness, it WILL return to the '56 Chrysler Tango Red before I die!!!!!!!!!!And NO Harve, it aint getting painted yellow!

FWDBuff.......Beautiful rigs (except the yellow one )!

When did fire trucks stop becoming so pretty looking? I loved the old ALF Centurys, and older Hahns and Seagraves. They certainly don't make em like they used to.

On the subject of color, ask any kid what color a fire truck is.....they will have only one answer!

Imagine how heart broken I feel when my kids ask me what color fire trucks I drive, and I have to tell them white! The only thing worse was when I had to tell them black and gray!
