Not much left there in trucks now. Especially after Pittsburgh picked up a record on vehicle awards. Guess they snagged a big old platform to hit the $1.1+ mil mark. I guess I'm giving out good aerial info at workshops, had two of their guys in the one I did out there last year, about the 5th or 6th big truck someone picked up after being in one of mine. But who really knows, I don't count those in my helped column. Never know who people work with after they leave a workshop, can't take credit for such things I don't know anything about.

No SAFER today yet, wonder if they're going to put any out. Plenty of folks sitting with 1199As.

Any guess on the number of 1199As left for Ops? It seems like eons since the last report of an 1199A for AFG. Last comment I remember was around 500 maybe still out there and over 1000 applications still in the mix. Anyone know ANYTHING about this?

    Thanks.

Nothing specific. We could see the rest of the AFG, more SAFER, and initial FP&S any day now.

Doesn't mean wait to handle 2008. Best problem to have is spending time getting ready for the same project and then being awarded. Pleasant surprised beat unpleasant ones.

I have opted to write this year's applications for two other items. I am trying to get these documents finished this weekend so I have extra time to review and edit them before submission and so I can help a neighboring department work on their PPE grant. I am holding out hope for an 1199A soon or a supplemental award later if money becomes available after other awards are closed out. My fingers and toes are all still crossed here. That makes typing the new grant applications a little tricky but I love a challenge.

Nice job 7Stones, but did find a couple of teeny tiny mistakes.

Congrats to all of the winners this week.

To get color for the headings is pretty simple. Left click the word and scroll across the word. It will be highlighted dark. Go up to the "A" in the toolbar and click on the upside down triangle to view the colors. Click on the color that you want. The word will be wrapped by wording and brackets for the color that you chose. When you post or preview the word will be that color.

Onebugle. You are an incredible MS Excel master. I really appreciate your work on always keeping us updated on the $$ situation round by round. Every Friday I look for your thread and look through the details to figure out where we are sitting. Thank you. Looks like I blew it on the OPS average and the number of Ops grants still remaining. I guess I should leave the heavy computational lifting to the expert!

Looks like our numbers are off. As Steve said in another thread someone got their 10Q's for 2 trucks, which may be getting reduced to 1, but either way I know of another heavy rescue coming down the pike and they got asked to take $350k instead of the $500k requested. So just those two apps add up to over what we have left here. So definitely over if the one is getting both trucks. Details. Guess some money came back into the pot from excess.

I would think it's the other way around. Not excess funds coming back, but a department(s) returning the vehicle grant for what ever reason. According to the PG:

No more than 25 percent of appropriated funds ($136.75 million) may be used for vehicle awards.
Based on that, the AFG can not overspend in the vehicle catergory, but it's the federal government....who says they have to follow their own rules.
