We have been looking at the Federal guidelines for a Fire Corps Auxiliary.
Years ago we had a ladies auxiliary but it is long gone. We have been approached by people of the last few years that would like to volunteer, but are not good candidates to be firefighters, and in most cases don't want to be fire fighters.
Some of the things we have been looking at that don't necessarily require firefighters that Fire Corps Volunteers might be helpful for
1. Fire Prevention Education
2. Supplemental Staff for EOC, Logistics/Administration/Planning Sections on large incident or event
3. Vehicle Maintenance (couple retired mechanics asked if they could help)
4. Office Administration
Have any of you organized a new auxiliary using the Fire Corp model, did it succeed, what challenges did you have?
