I have been a paid FF in a large city for 10 years. Due to wife's new career I am considering getting a job in bay area instead of commuting 2 1/2 hours. SJ is testing soon and might give it a shot. Is SJFD tough on rookies? Treating them like crap or anything? I understand I'll have to start cleaning toilets all over again and don't have a problem with that, but just not looking forward to being treated like a POS again. Also does anyone know if they are hiring EMT's and how many?

SJFD treats probies poorly
A good friend of mine worked for Oakland fire, went to SJFD after 2 yrs with OFD and was treated like dirt, quit and went back to OFD. They don't care if you are a lateral, you are treated poorly while on probation.
