    Default FF II Certification

Any help/advice will be greatly appreciated.
I'm looking to apply for a different job in the fire service but it requires me to have my Firefighter II cert. My current Dept. is not planning on offering the program for another two years. Does anybody know of any schools out there that I can get my FF II cert. at? I'm looking for a fast program that only will take 10 to 14 days or there about. At this point I donít really care where the academy is located; Iím willing to travel for it. If anybody knows of any online programs that would be really cool as well.
Again, thanks for any advice, I greatly appreciate it.

That's a pretty ambitious timeline. I don't know what state your in, but I'd check the technical colleges, every state is different. I do know some of the Minnesota techs were offering online, but you'd still have to go to practical training sessions and to take test.

Do you have your haz mat ops? If you don't you'll need to take that, and in the midwest that means your looking at an additional 25-30 hours.

PM me with more details if you wish and I'll see if I can help.

You can get Firefighter 2 at the New York State Fire Academy in like 3 or 4 days.

you can challenge the test at Bucks County College in PA- you can take the Ops test while you are there as well. All in one day. they have it there every couple of months. Both are pro board certs.

If you feel like flying to Kansas, I'd recommend Hutchinson Community College in Hutchinson, Ks. Their fire science program offers a Fire Academy that's 14 days long. This includes Hazmat Ops and the all the appropriate testing; ultimately leading to IFSAC certification in everything. They'll be running academies in March and April of this year. It sounds like the New York Academy is faster though.

Check with the Alabama Fire College as well. . . Only prereq is IFSAC or Pro Board FFI. Good Luck.

Do you know if New York FF II program is IFSAC or Pro Board endorsed?
