Default Apparatus Replacement vs. Moving to Reserve.

What is the weight on replacing a piece of apparatus vs. moving it to reserve status.

In order to get a vehicle replaced, you have to justify the need for replacing it. To move it to reserve status means that it is still functional and you could have gotten along without the new one. On top of that, you have to agree to remove the vehicle you are replacing from service and assure that it will not be sold to be used within the fire service again. I hope this helps you out.
