    Default Attention. Attention. An Alarm

    Activation has been received. All personnel are instructed to remain at their workstations until an investigation has been completed. {Message repeats}

    OH happy days. I have a flashy light over my desk that is going to give me a migrain very soon. LOL

    Just what has been activated and why do these things always seem to happen when you are in close proximity?

    Well in this case almost justified in your question, Cheffie. Almost. I really was sittting at my desk when the alarm went off. My jr guy was down stairs coming in from a smoke and he commented that he heard the alarm bell on the main floor and everyone looking around "Whats that noise?" hehehehee

    Turns out it was a "falsey".

    Good thing since no one left their desks. You Canadians are a hard-working lot. Alarms go off and you keep right on working.

    Actually I bumped into our Security Warrant Officer during the noon hour and he identified that the alarm was not a falsey. Apparently a CO alarm in the parking garage went into fail-safe because the filter was plugged up or something. So not a falsey after all, just not a major event.

    On a slightly different note, had to go to the bank, and on my way back I could hear another internal alarm sounding. Apparently the resturant, Le Peradeau was also experiencing an internal emergency activation of some kind. Don't know how extensive however there were no responding apparatus from DCFD, at the time that I wandered past. Didn't see any flashy lights on D Street either.

    Rick, these things really do seem to happen only when you're around. Sure you're not trying to mess with peoples' minds?

    I hate when the CO detector filter gets fouled up with CO.

    Here's a fun one from yesterday. Engine boss decides to make a house call with the engine to a older lady's place because her smoke detector "goes off every evening at 1840 (6:40pm) for the last three weeks".

    It was of course an alarm clock in her own living room.

    Crisis averted!
