    Default NIMS Question

Our BC gives us little trivia questions everyday. Yesterday he asked us if anyone new what the accronym HEED relating to ICS/NIMS meant.

I thought I've heard of it, but turned up nothing. Anyone have an idea?

    Thanks

One can only hope that the individual who came up with this, is the test person for the new helicopter ejection seats

    Already perfected

However we are proud to report that the entire crew survived as the Polish Navy forgot to put the submarine in the water before testing the new Screen Door.

Haha. No a HEED is not an ejection seat for a helicopter. It is one of those little air bottles with a mouthpiece. Short term breathing air for escaping from a submerged aircraft. Like if you ditch in the ocean and it sinks, you grab your HEED which is strapped to your vest and use it to breath while you swim out.

Even the burger-flippers at McDonald's probably have some McWackers.

Ohh. You mean a SEED that all us engineers in Navy enginerooms used to have to carry on our coveralls in case we had to escape from an engine room fire?

Yea, this NIMS common term thing is working smashingly
