    Default Random Foam Question...

Today at the academy we were talking about foam, and we were discussing "ATC" foam and its applications. The question was asked to the instructor as to what "ATC" stands for, and he told us he didn't know and even after researching online all he could come up with were brand websites and they all just referred to it as ATC foam, no breakdown of what it stands for. Anyone know? I'm just curious now, haha.

There is also AFFF/ARC. ARC stands for Alcohol Resistant Concentrate.

It is the same thing as ATC, just a different manufacturer (in this case Ansul) using a different name.

Yes, it can get quite confusing...
I can't believe they actually pay me to do this!!!

One friend noted yesterday that a fire officer only carries a flashlight, sometimes prompting grumbling from firefighters who have to lug tools and hoses.
"The old saying is you never know how heavy that flashlight can become," the friend said.

Ummm, why is an "Instructor" that doesn't know what ATC means in reference to foam teaching a foam class?

Yes, you are correct. And no, your not being rude. I looked over that one completely. That instructor must be rubbing off on me
