I am a new Fire Investigator and I was assigned to put together a class on overhaul and its effects on investigations. I've searched the web and am having a difficult time finding info. Does anyone know of a place I can look or have any ideas on what to use? I am just trying to teach my fellow firefighters how to preserve evidence to make an Investigators job a little easier.
Thanks in advance,

Section 16.3 in the 2004 of 921 outlines preserving the scene and the following sections go into greater detail with regards to the responsibilities of the first in firefighters. Check that out. Not sure if the section is the same in the new edition of 921 as I have yet to receive my copy. Also below is a link to an article published in 1997 Fire Engineering magazine. The author, Dennis Smith, was a Captain with the Atlantic City Fire Department at the time he wrote the article. He is also a member of the NFPA 921 committee and NFPA 1033 committee.
