CT drivers license

This is getting a little rediculous for me. Why is it that you have to have a CT drivers license to apply for most departments? New London, Milford, and now Bristol all require a valid CT drivers license, which I don't have cause I live in VA. I understand departments wanting to hire from their own areas first but, I can't even apply. Why is the cpat available for out of staters? I feel like I just wasted $150. Is there any departments in CT that don't require a CT drivers license before they will accept an application?

Have you called the departments you are looking to apply to? It may be a requirement to have a drivers license, with the exception that it is a CT drivers license before appointment. Who knows? Ask, the worst they can say is no. Best of luck to you.
