Greetings, I am a newbie to the form thing, although not to the fire service. My deparment is looking to purchase our first aerial device. We are seriously considering the 70 foot Sutphen platform on a single axel with 500 gallons of water with a foam system. The truck is to be used as a first out engine with aerial capability (quint).
As a member of the truck committee I am looking for feed back from anyone who has such a unit or has worked on one. We are interested in options , must haves, performance, problems, maintenance, reliability, pros & cons, and it's task assignment, etc.
Any feedback, positive and/or negative, would be greatly appreciated with regard to this truck or Suthens in general.
