    Default Arizona Lodd

    RIP Brother

MESA, AZ. -- A captain with the Mesa Fire Department collapsed in his office Monday, and died a short time later.

John Delaney, 44, had been with the fire department for 23 years.

He was found unresponsive in his office. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, and pronounced dead.

The chief said in a written statement: "He is truly loved throughout the Mesa Fire family and his passing is a devastating loss to the organization. Captain Delaney will receive full Mesa Fire Department honors." More information will be posted when it becomes available.

John was a great guy and had a good sense of humor he would come down to southeastern Arizona to my department and instruct training classes here for my dept.

    He will be greatly missed!

Condolences to John's immediate family, his Mesa Fire Department family, and his friend's.

    Godspeed Captain John Delaney

Now in Victoria, BC. I'm from beautiful Jasper Alberta in the heart of the Can. Rockies - will always be an Albertan at heart!

My sincere condolences to the Mesa Fire Department, and Captain Delaney's family and friends for their sad loss.

    Sleep with angels, John.
