Default Any fire exams coming up in CT?

I'm in NY and I wanna give CT a try since FDNY is taking forever and I can't join any of my local fire departments because of residency....

    Does CT FD's require residency?

Most require a CT drivers liscensce. There are ways around it. A friend of mine lives in CT and is on FDNY. He has a NY DL and uses a friends address in NYC to satisfy their requirements.

Wouldn't they discover you're not a resident of whatever state if they do the background check?

I had that idea for applying for the the White Plains FD in NY, problem is, I live in NORTH white plains... difference of zipcode due to 1/4 of a mile border....

Anyway, I thought maybe I could use a friend's address but was told they would discover me without a problem and I"d be banned from taking their civil exam.

    Know if its true?

My friend did it along with many others on FDNY that he knows of and had no issues, but there is always the possibilty of getting caught.

Your bes bet is to as the departments that you are interested in about their policy. Most only require you to have a CT DL at the time of hire. Residency requirements vary from dept. to dept.

    Better to ask first.

The most incompetent town hiring the most incompetent investigator would figure that out. And even if they didn't, either someone will squeal or you'll get caught after hiring and simply get fired.
Even the burger-flippers at McDonald's probably have some McWackers.
