Default Did YOU try out for OFD?

Let me know, what am I looking at facing next time they hire?
What kind of times are the top performers banging out on the practicle?
What books do I study for the written?
I want the jump for next hiring cycle.

I am looking for the same info. I too am interested in OFD also and plan on testing with them in their next hiring cycle. I am currenty finishing up FF2 with only 4 more weeks left. And my accelerated EMT class starts May 14th.

I have heard that OFD will most likley hire again January 09'.

The practical is tough so make sure you are in great shape. I'm not sure about the times, I think its more based on the points you get in each event. For the written study your basic fire academy books and EMT books. The written eliminated almost half of the applicants so make sure you start studying well in advance. It's all relatively straight forward. After those you have the interview which is like most other FD interviews and the polygraph, which is self explanatory. My advice (for what its worth) would just be to stay in shape and know the books.
