If you are an Explorer, or Jr, or anything other then an active FIREFIGHTER, you have NO buisness with the following;
Interior firefighting.
Exterior firefighting
Radios, unless they play music
Emergency lights, sirens, or responding
Power tools on scene
Rank
Or whining.
We are here to HELP you develop that wet noodle stuffing between your ears called your brain. We understand that it is frustrating to not be able to do what we do. Trust me, most, if not all of us are former Junior members of a FD. Some of us have fouled up, gotten knocked on our ***, and know what to avoid.
Ask smart questions. I can care less what kind of LEDs you have on your new Super Duper QUINT/Tanker/Heavy Resq, and I will probably make fun of you. But, you want to learn about ropes and knots, why you use a large calibur line, bunker gear donning tips, SCBA donning tips, or something that will help you develop yourself, ask away.

Here Here.
I say the first page somebody will be here saying we shouldn't be bashing them and we don't belong here.
If someone with multiple personalities threatens to kill himself, is it considered a hostage situation?

haha thats funny.

You have a good point, I mean I am a junior but I dont brag about lights and sirens or anything stupid, I come here to learn a little more about the fire service from experienced firefighters. I am taking FF1+2 right now plus wildland s-130 and s-190 (later on this year taking haz-mat ops) so when I come here I look for topics about what I have been learning and see what you guys have to say about it, and sometimes I put in my opinion on what I have experienced so far.

Haha. Most likely. I won't be the one. I agree with everything above as far as I can see. I am newer (spelling) to the explorers and I am still learning and I am sure I will be learning for the rest of my life. I know I am no where near any of the fire fighters in experience and knowledge and all that other stuff and I won't be for along time or never. I am here to learn and ask questions and keep my mouth shut. Same as at the fire house. If I ever do anything wrong or start whining about people bashing threads or whining about anything for that reason or just anything wrong just let me know. Also if I start to sound like a know it all I am not even close so please stop me. I am not that kind of person and I hope I don't sound like it or start sounding like it. Just let me know if I do and I will stop. I promise. Thanks for all the advice that I have been given so far.

Hmmm....
Almost makes me want to bite to annoy people :PI say the first page somebody will be here saying we shouldn't be bashing them and we don't belong here.
All kidding aside, BLS you're right. Being a jr/exp has its blessings, and its down sides. Sure, you're a "firefighter", but you're not a firefighter yet.
I'm glad that in the 4 years I've been involved with my FD that I've learned so much from just sitting there and listening to what was going on, that FF1 isn't so bad now. Most of the stuff we're covering is just a refresher with one or two new things thrown in. While it sucks pulling up to that fire, hitting the hydrant, and then pretty much watching while everyone else goes in, it's for a reason. Soon enough I'll have my cert (if Bones is feeling nice enough
) and will fight plenty o' fires "in my time". But until then, it's soak up all the info I can.
The same thing goes for every other junior/explorer out there. Patience is a virtue. The 4 years you aren't allowed to do stuff now will be paid off when you have a career (volunteer or paid) of over 30 years in the future. It'll all be worth it.

Fellow AHTP brother, agreed - 110%.
But I do have these cool lights in my closet ready to be installed when I get on a department in a year and a half...
Plus, you don't belong here bashing us like this. We should be able to talk about whatever we want.
Now... where were we???
And your going to kill me for this.

Well it's better than the kid who's not even an explorer yet, but follows the truck around with lights on his bike and a portable. Oo
But I do have these cool lights in my closet ready to be installed when I get on a department in a year and a half...
However, I do admire his enthusiasm!
