    Default Essentials?

Please pardon me if this questions's been asked & answered already. I couldn't get the search feature to operate.

In our application for SCBA, we were asked, "Are all of your active firefighters trained to NFPA 1001 or equivalent (Firefighter I/Firefighter II, or essentials)?"

I'm familiar with Firefighter I & II, of course, but what is "essentials?" I thought it was a textbook.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

    Default Essentials of firefighting

Way back when, there was a course taught called essentials of firefighting, I took it in the late 80's and I had never heard of FFI & II, I think it is the forerunner to the FFI class of today.
