Explorer post 500 offers youths a career based educational expierence in
the fire service. We need your support quickly. We have requested some
funding through General Mills in the amount of 10,000 dollars to use
towards a community project. The project is going to turn a donated 26
foot camper into a rehab trailer which will be available to fire, ems,
police, or community organizations for use at extended incidents. Please
click on the site link below and fill out the small amount of info and
please leave a comment on our project. These comment will be used in the
grading of our project as it competes against the other requests. These
comment have to be in by March 31st, 2008, yes I know that is only 2 days
but it will only take about 5 minutes. The benefits of this project are
huge. First we will be able to offer a unique service to the departments
around us while getting the youths of the explorer post involved in their
community. When you leave your comment please leave you name and title so
that it is documented that it is not just me making these comments up.
You help with this cause is appreciated and our post look forward to
moving ahead with our project. Please forward this message along to
anyone you know who might be interested in supporting this cause. You may

I'm curious why make a rehab trailer when several are already available from the racine fire bells?
edit-I read in your link
Why would you say that when the racine fire bells are based in racine county? This will be the only unit of its type in Racine County and will be an asset during extended incidents.Last edited by edge1317; 03-28-2008 at 09:47 PM.

just getting the word out for support
This is a unique opportunity to get our youth involved. This project was described to the Wisconsin fire bells and they were in support of it. They said that although they offer rehab services they are unable to house more than a few peeople in their rig. Sorry if i offened anyone here but these types of projects and the concept of rehab is something appreciated by all fire service, law enforcement and emergency managment. I guess if there are organizations that need the funding then they have just as much access to the funding if they fill out a request.
Thanks Bryan Tello

Don't get me wrong... it is a unique opportunity. Just see if you can change the wording in your request so it's not a lie - I'm sure The Fire Bells wouldn't like to hear that their efforts are being put down like so - It would get me personally.
Oh well... Life goes on.
Good luck anyhow.Firefighter/EMT

Not only that, but say if hamburger helper does consider your request and does any research on it, they will find another few rehab units in racine county and wonder what else your not quite being truthful with.

I'm curious about your project. Is it going to be entirely staffed by post members? What calls are you going to respond to? Structure fire with extended time on scene and up, or is it going to be more larger incidents only? What have you got to pull the trailer?

folow up
Iatf the prblm here is that HH only allowed 2200 characters to describe the project. I didn't realize how little that is, so I had to condense the information to a ridiculous amount. I can email you the more detailed description if you leave you email or call me 414-339-5286 anytime. I will say you guys had me worried and since your first post we have had conversations with the ledership of racine fire bells and they will be posting to the site their approval. So all worked out in the end
To answer the quick questions, the trailer will be staffed by explorers and adult advisors or volunteers to i guess. We will pull it with personal trucks for now until we get funds to purchase something. We are getting contributions from some private industry as well so the project is moving forward. To this point the explorer post includes kansasville and raymond fire department and there is talks with salem. it really is a great thing and we have put alot of time into creating the post and building the foundation. So leave an email and ill send ya the longer version of information.
Thanks again and be safe,
