Default Turnout gear - head to toe

Can you still req "head to toe"?

Helping a neighboring FD. At "Personal Protective Equipment Details" and forces you to select: helmet, coat etc

Other option might be "Other PPE" and explain head to toe.

    Or am I missing something?

Not missing anything that I'm aware of. They now do it by breakdown.

He's right, I don't see it listed there anymore. That has to be a mistake. That would be a PITA to add them all individually.

Wonder why. We did ours in 2006 so I didn't realize they changed it.

Maybe they found out that in the head to toe apps they were buying $400
Leather boots for a department running 25 calls a year while they bought cheaper turn out gear to pay for them.

The other advantage (for DHS) in the new format is to determine exact ages of each piece of equipment. One guy could have new boots and crappy old gear, and got lumped in with a "Complete set."

We also were funded in 2006 when the complete set selection was available.

Our 2007 award was for PPE listed individually. In fact, we weree asked to accept a reduction of about $45 per helmet (from $245 to $200) and a $35 reduction in boots (from $285 to $250).

In 2007 our award for PPE was reduced for gloves 60 to 50, boots from 275to 250,helments 250 to 200,coats 975 to 900,hoods and pants were at the price quotated. So good luck in your porject.
