FPS grant award

I just received word from our Senator that Michigan Technological University has been awarded $74,903 for our fire prevention and safety program through the FPS program of AFG. Thank you Kurt for your help reviewing my narrative. This grant will help us improve our kitchen fire safety, our fire extinguisher training, and our building fire safety equipment.

Now...back to the AFG...

No DJs yet, $26 million available, no idea how much was applied for.;)

Got ours for $33,630.00. This will hopefully reduce the number of stove top fires.

Anyone still getting 1199 notifications for FPS grants??? My crossed fingers are getting sore....

Me too. Everything i have is stilled crossed. been setting at the waiting bar for awhile. getting antsy.

They dropped some new ones about 2.5 weeks ago, haven't heard word of anything on SAFER or FP since.

I just got my DJ for 2007 Fire Prevention.

We cannot provide you a detailed account of how your application was rated in the competitive process since reviews and other pre-decisional materials are only for internal official use. We can, however tell you that a! panel of your fire service peers reviewed your application, and in doing so, the panelists assigned scores to all elements of the evaluation criteria as listed within the program guidance. The review panel's scores indicate an area of improvement would have been to explain in more detail the on/implementation plan and the methods used to reach the target audience. In addition, the panel expected you to explain in more detail the measurable goals of the project(s) and the plan to evaluate their effectiveness.

We were trying for 911 address markers.

Try again in the fall.
