I am signed up to take the civil service exam this month and have a concerning question to ask. I have no vision in my right eye do to a budgie cord injury in 2002. I am honestly able to perform all functions of those who have vision in both eyes and would not affect me in any way as a firefighter. I just cant see on the right side unless i turn my head to the right. I have 20/20 vision in my good eye with out glasses. I have been reading over the medical exam and I will most likely fail due to the minimal standard allowed for vision in ma. So my question would be will this one thing disqualify me from accomplishing my dream of becoming a firefighter? and does anyone know a fellow firefighter that has one eye and a active firefighter? thanks..
