My husband served in the same company, and I'd like to wear an armband in memory of his two co-workers tomorrow. I skate for a local rollerderby team, and CTFD firefighters support our league by sponsoring us and by attending our bouts.

Can someone help me with the etiquette involved? I have a patch that I'd like to wear on a black armband. I want to put a stripe across the patch, but I'm not sure if it runs diagonal, and which way it runs across the patch (high left to low right or vice versa).

Any advice?
