Default New Zealand firefighters caught in explosion

An explosion in a Coolstore facility has resulted in serious injuries and one subsequent fatality in Hamilton, New Zealand.
Two other firefighters remain critical at this time, four others seriously injured but stable and one has been discharged from hospital.
We morn the loss of our brother, Senior Station Officer Derek Lovell and send our hopes and prayers for the other injured and their friends and family.
The explosion occurred shortly after entry was forced, with no initial sign of fire showing and caught both of the first arriving four man crews and damaging one apparatus severely. More detail could be found on www.fire.org.nz

Always saddens me to hear of the death and/or injury of one of our brothers or sisters.
Deepest sympathy to the family friends and colleagues of the fallen and hopes for the welfare and eventual return to health of the injured firefighters of Hamilton.
We may disagree about the small things in life sometimes but when one is down we are all down with him.
