Stratmoor Hills Fire Protection District proudly protects 10000 people living in an area of 5 square miles. We operate out of 1 station that protects a primarily residential area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a combination of paid and volunteer status.
Stratmoor Hills Fire Protection District also includes a portion of Interstate 25, State Highway 83, and U.S. Highway 85/87. These three roads carried an average of 120,000 cars daily in 1996. Our average response time is 4.4 minutes. The District is mostly a bedroom type community with motels, trailer parks, strip malls, Pikes Peak Community College and light industry, with terrain features of hills, valleys, prairie, and creeks.
