St. Louis County Sheriffs Rescue Squad

An all volunteer rescue squad since our inception in 1958. We are the largest county East of the Mississippi river covering 7,092 square miles. We have divided the squad up into two sections, a North squad and a South squad the latter having more of the call volume. We currently have 48 members (20 north and 28 south)and average around 274 calls per year. Services provided; Extrication,Wilderness search and rescue, Wilderness recovery, All water related incidents in St Louis county and on Lake Superior, ATV accidents, Snowmobile accidents, Human Tracking team, Dogs and thier handlers, Rope rescue, Trench rescue, Airplane accidents, Command support for ERT (emergency Response team, Deputy assists, anything but fires.
