Erie Ambulance proudly protects 3000 people living in an area of 240 square miles. We operate out of 1 station that protects a primarily rural area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a volunteer status.
The Erie Ambulance Service was established in 1977 by Laverne Keith serving as a BLS service. We upgraded to ILS in 1992 through the ILLINI MOBILE INTENSIVE CARE PROGRAM at ILLINI Hospital in Silvis, IL. We have two Ambulances with 25 medics ready to respond at any time. We rotate being on call for 12 hour shifts, three medics will respond when paged out. The average reponse time is three minutes from the time we are paged out until the time the ambulance is on the road. We are very proud of the people that volunteer their time to help the people in the district. And thank our trustees who support us in every way.
