New Milford Community Ambulance Corp proudly protects 25000 people living in an area of 64 square miles. We operate out of 1 station that protects a primarily residential area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a volunteer status.
NMCAC was founded in 1929. It is one of the oldest volunteer ambulance services in the United States. In 1998 NMCAC responded to 1,305 calls. The department has two type III ambulances, a GMC Envoy First Response vehicle and 61 members. The service is certified at the BLS level with dfib/epi/combi-tube MIC certification. At 64 square miles New Milford is the largest town in the state. All of our members have portable radios, bloodborne turnout gear and O2/crash kits. Twenty of our members also carry defibulators.
