CHIEF LAUREN SHARPE AND SEVERAL OTHER DEDICATED VOLUNTEERS CHARTERED KENANSVILLE FIRE DEPARTMENT IN THE YEAR 1953. CHIEF SHARPE ALSO SERVED AS CHAPLAIN FOR THE NC FIREMANS ASSOCIATION. SINCE THAT TIME THE DEPARTMENT CHANGED IT'S NAME TO KENANSVILLE FIRE RESCUE AND EMS. CURRENT CHIEF RONALD BOSTIC , A 30 YEAR VETERAN, LEADS THE DEPARTMENT INTO THE CHANGING TIMES AND CHALLENGES OF THE TWENTY-FIRST CENTURY
