We operate out of 1 station that protects a primarily residential area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a volunteer status.
The Greenawalds Fire Company is located in South Whitehall Township Pennsylvania. It is one of three companies that serve the Township. All three companies, although separate oraganizations, work together so as not to duplicate services within the Township. Greenawalds Fire Company, along with general firefighting duties, is the rescue response within the Township. A very well equipped rescue unit along with a tactical rescue trailer is located and responds from the Greenawalds Station to all rescue calls within the Township. The company handles vehicle rescue, confinded space rescue, trench rescue, building search and rescue, terrain rescue, rope rescue and any other form of rescue imaginable. The staff at the Greenawalds station is well trained in most aspects of rescue as well as firefighting. The Greenawalds Fire/Rescue is one of the first units in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to be awarded the newly created Department of Health Certification for Rescue Units and is one of three rescue companies in the State to be Certified as a Heavy Duty Rescue Company, and is a member of the Lehigh County Tactical Rescue Response Team. We also perform many functions for our community, such as sponsor a burn trailer where residents can bring their aluminum cans and drop them off for the burn foundation. We host a Halloween party and parade for the children, a Santa run delivering toys to children in our district and other functions for our community.
