Township of Cramahe Fire Department proudly protects 8000 people living in an area of 230 square kilometers. We operate out of 2 stations that protect a primarily rural area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a volunteer status.
We are a rural department located approximatly 1 hour east of Toronto. We service approx. 250 square kilometres of mainly agricultural land. We respond to 27 kilometres of Highway 401 which runs through the south end of our township. We also have 11 kilometres of railways which belong to the Canadian National Railway and another 11 kilometres which belong to the Canadian Pacific Railway. We also have the Trans Canada Natural Gas Pipeline running through our township. We are located in the County of Northumberland which was the first county in Canada to have all fire departments fully trained and equipped with defibrilators
