It operates under a tiered 911 response system, starting with Emergency Medical Dispatchers, followed by EMS trained police officers in the town or EMS fire personnel in the village. They provide initial BLS treatment until the arrival of the EMU. The EMU also provides medical support for the Police Dept. Emergency Response Team, the Brighton Haz-Mat team, and the Town Volunteer Fire Companies.
