Bolentown Volunteer Fire Department proudly protects 2000 people living in an area of 75 square miles. We operate out of 2 stations that protect a primarily residential area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a volunteer status.

The Bolentown Fire Department, located 5 miles outside of Orangeburg, has been in operation since the early 1980's. At our inception, we had no radio access and had only a couple of trucks to call 'fire apparatus'. Today, we have three engines, two tankers, a service truck and a dually 4X4 RRV. We have reduced our ISO rating from a 9 to a 6, replaced our Quenset hut station with two Operating/Training Facilities. Our community service has extended to offer CPR/First Aid,First Responder classes, and South Carolina Fire Academy certified classes.
