Ann Arbor Township Fire Department

The Ann Arbor Charter Township Fire Department (AATFD) is a municipal fire department formed in 1938 to provide services for the surrounding rural area, including the Charter Township of Ann Arbor and the Village of Barton Hills.

The Ann Arbor Township Fire Department is a combination fire department consisting of a full-time fire chief, six full-time firefighters and approximately twenty three on-call firefighters. With two fire stations and ten fire apparatus we proudly serve a community of 5100 residents, several large corporations, a community college, and miles of expressway including interchanges.
