Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps proudly protects 23000 people living in an area of 60 square miles. We operate out of 1 station that protects a primarily residential area. Our department is a private department whose members are on a volunteer status.

Newtown Ct. is a suburban/rural New England town located in the western part of Connecticut, about 5 miles east of Danbury. Newtown Ambulance covers the second largest town in the state at a little over 60 square miles, which includes 10 miles of interstate 84 and 600 miles of State and town roads. Our call volume is just under 1400 calls a year. Newtown Ambulance has 48 members which are all EMT's.Our sponsor hospital is Danbury Hospital, which also supplies our paramedic service with a paramedic intercept vehicle.Due to the large size of our town all members are fully equiped with a Motorola two-way radio. O2 and a complete jump kit.We operate three state of the art type 3 ambulances from one central location.
