Prairie du Pont Fire District is located in St. Clair County, Illinois situated along the Mississippi River. Prairie du Pont Fire Department was organized in 1941 and became a Fire District in 1945. We are an all volunteer department consisting of 24 members. The Prairie du Pont Fire District provides fire protection and first responder services for the village of East Carondelet, parts of Dupo, and some rural St. Clair County. The approximate area served is 14.5 square miles with a population estimated to be 2500. We operate three front line engine companies out of three stations. Each engine company is certified as an EMS First Responder Unit and carries the required medical supplies including an AED. A brush unit 4418 is used for grass and brush fires. A 3000 gallon Tanker and a 95' Ladder are also part of our fleet. Prairie du Pont Fire Department is a member of MABAS Group 32.
