South Seekonk Fire Association (Station 1) proudly protects 5000 people living in an area of 5 square miles. We operate out of 1 station that protects a primarily residential area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a paid on call status.
The South Seekonk Fire Association is made up of the call firefighters assigned to Station 1 and any previous members of Station 1. The Association built and owns the fire station located at 170 County St. The station is leased to the Town of Seekonk. The town owns the land only. We are the busiest district in Town and we respond to the infamous Rt.6 commercial area,Rt.195 East and West,Rt.44,and Rt.114a. Station one call firefighters responded to 484 runs in 1998. We are on call weekdays from 1600-0800 and weekends and holidays for 24 hours. In addition our members are assigned to 8 hour engine coverage shifts on weekends at Station 3. Some of our members work the Rescue as well.
