City of Burlington Fire Department

City of Burlington Fire Department proudly protects 10000 people living in an area of three square miles. We operate out of four stations that protect a primarily residential area and hold an ISO rating of Class 4. Our department is a public department whose members are on a volunteer status. The oldest of our companies was formed in 1795 and is one of the oldest fire companies in the U.S. still in existance under one name. The four companies that make up the department are goverened by the Board of Engineers and a Department Chief. The City of Burlington is located along the Delaware River and is approximately 15 miles north of Philadelphia PA. Our department responds to approxminately 350 emergency calls anually. Our members are trained to provide structural & wildland firefighting, vehicle extrication, water rescue and hazmat containment. We also provide a R.I.T. Company to the Willingboro, Beverly and Edgewater Park FD's in NJ and the Bristol Boro and Croydon FD's in PA.
