A message from Fire Chief William T. Lewis Welcome to the Town of Windsor Fire Department. The Town of Windsor, Connecticut is a diverse and multicultural suburban community just north of our State Capitol, Hartford. We are an entirely volunteer fire department of 130 members in a community of 28,000 residents. Our department operates out of five firehouses with over twenty pieces of apparatus. Our annual call volume exceeds 1000 calls per year.

As all volunteer organizations are feeling a shortage of volunteers, the fire department is also looking for new members. We are looking for active firefighters and support personnel.
