We operate out of 1 station that protects a primarily rural area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a combination of paid and volunteer status.
The Hollis Fire Department has a group of Explorers. They are young adults between the age of 14 and 21, who have an intrest in learning about the fire and EMS service. They run their own meetings every-other Wednesday evening. They also have the opportunity to participate in the department's monthly buisness and training meetings. There are currently thirteen members of the Hollis Explorers, and six advisors. They plan trainings of their own like vehicle extrication, shed burns, car burns, search and rescue, SCBA practice, EMS scenarios, and much more.
