Townsend Fire Department

Townsend Fire Department proudly protects 10000 people living in an area of 32 square miles. We operate out of 4 stations that protect a primarily residential area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a paid on call status.

The town of Townsend is located in North/Central Massachusetts and borders the state of New Hampshire. The department is headed by Chief John F Collins and is a combination paid on call & full time department. The department was established in 1875 and has appartatus stationed centrally in each of the town's 3 districts.
