The Gilbert Fire Dept. has 9 stations with stations 1 and 3 being duel company. The department staffs 8 engines and 3 ladders. Minimum staffing on each unit is 3 person with one being ALS and the others EMT. Typical staffing is 4 person double ALS. Ladders carry extrication. EMS response is 80% of our calls. We run automatic aid via satellite to neighboring cities. Closest units go regardless of boundries. Structure response is 3eng/l ladder/1 BC. First alarm balance would be 3eng/2L/3 BC's. Gilbert also has 2 Water tenders, 1 brush, 1 Command Van, 1 Regional Civilian Decon unit, 2 BC's, and 1 Air/Light truck. Ambulance transport is via a private company with Gilbert medics having the option to continue care and ride in with the patient. There are also 10 air ambulances available in the area as our Trauma center is 15 miles away. Engine 258 is a Haz Mat unit and a developing Haz Mat team. Technical rescue is auto aided from border cities.
