Manistee Fire Department

City of Manistee Fire Department proudly protects 7600 people living in an area of 3.86 square miles. We operate out of 1 station that protects a primarily residential area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a paid status.

The department has been operating full time since 1873. The fire station has been manned 24 hours a day, seven days a week since July of 1889. The fire station is on the State of Michigan Historic Register as the oldest continuously manned fire station in the state.
