Plains Township Fire Department proudly protects 15000 people living in an area of 14.7 square miles. We operate out of 2 stations that protect a primarily residential area. Our department is a public department whose members are Paid Professionals.
The Plains Twp. Fire Dept. has 13 full-time firefighters and 10 part-time firefighters. We operate out of 2 stations. We have 3 Pumpers,1 Brush Truck, Aerial Truck and a Fire Command Car. In our town we have 2 Hospitals, 3 Schools,4 Day Care Centers, 5 Hotels, 1 Horse Racing Track & future Casino at(Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs) and 3 Nursing Homes. We are at the hub of Interstate 81 , the Northeast Extention of the PA Turnpike, Rt. 315, Rt. 115, Rt. 309, and the Cross Valley Expressway. The Susquehanna River cuts through the town, seperating Plains Twp. and Forty-Fort Borough.
