Utica Community Fire Protection District

On April 20th, 2004, our EMS Building was destroyed by a tornado. We are currently operating out of 1 station. A new Fire Station should be completed in the Spring of 2006. Our department is a public department whose members are on a paid on call status.

Our district includes Starved Rock State Park, Grand Bear Lodge, two major Interstates, and a portion of the Illinois River. We operate with a current roster of 40 paid on call firemen and/or EMT's and an established junior firefighters program for youths ages 15-18yrs. The Utica Community Fire District averages 4 calls per week and has an average response of 14 firemen per call.
