Leighton Township Fire Department proudly protects 5000 people living in an area of 40 square miles. We operate out of 2 stations that protect a primarily rural area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a paid on call status.
The fire department's operations are supervised by Fire Chief Dave Van Putten and his command staff made up of a Deputy Chief, Captain, Lieutenant and 23 firefighting personnel serving the community. This department is very commited to customer service and fire prevention. We have developed a strong suppression training program as well as a intense health and incident safety programs making operations safer for all we serve and protect. We feel that we are leaders in the fire service with our programs.
