We proudly protect 2,500 people living in an area of 1 1/2 square miles. We operate out of 1 station that protects 2 suburban communities. Our company is a public company whose members are on a volunteer status. We have an ISO rating of 5.
Station 109 is an all volunteer fire company located approx. 6 miles north of the city of Pgh, on Rt. 65 in Southwestern PA. We were organized in 1892. We operate 1 pumper and 1 heavy rescue. We run approximatly 150 fire calls per year. We provide mutual aid to 8 other departments in the surrounding area.
We also provide RIT services along with station 148 (Emsworth) to several surrounding departments. Ben Avon along with Stowe Twp. provide RIT to the Pittsburgh International Airport.
