The Lincoln Parish Fire Protection District No. 1 is governed by a Board of Commissioners that consists of seven members who are appointed by the Lincoln Parish Police Jury and the Town Councils of the incorporated areas within the District. This Commission is responsible for hiring a Fire Chief and an assistant. The chief and his assistant answer to the Commission and are responsible for the daily operations of the fire department and the training of its members. The Lincoln Parish Fire Protection District No. 1 currently holds a Class 4 rating, as established by the Property Insurance Association of Louisiana (PIAL). There are currently 13 paid employees of the Fire District, including the Chief and Administrative Assistant. The fire district also has approximately 25 active volunteers who dedicate many hours annually to training and emergency response. These people work together to provide the citizens of rural Lincoln Parish with the best fire protection possible. Without them, there would be no Lincoln Parish Fire Protection District.
